The Legal Unit of the Council is committed to ensure the delivery of quality legal services, fairly, honestly, effectively, promptly, transparently and diligently in achieving the set goals in the Council.
The mandate of the Unit includes:
- Prosecution of cases
- Responsible for keeping the books and proper records of proceedings and correspondences of the Board and Management.
- Rendering of legal advice/opinion on any matter with legal connotation referred to it by the Council.
- Preparing and vetting of legal instruments (deeds of guarantees, powers of Attorney and Seed Law instruments.
- Preparing and vetting contract Agreements of the Council.
- Representing the Council at Local and International meetings, seminars and workshops with legal connotation.
- Liaising with Federal Ministry of Justice on behalf of the Council.
- Handling of all insurance matters of the Council.
